The Photo Play- Cynthia Liriano

These films contribute to the evolution of storytelling in Americans movies from a style bases on the factual presentation of events. be For example, Sherlock Jr, was the main character was living in a fantasy world,so he move from one world to another, in the one he wish to be in. The movie shows how the styles have change and we as the audience what a good storytelling to keep us drawn in what are viewing.
Then in Kleptomaniac it is focus on what one person that stole something there is not much of a transition. There is no special effects it is all the truth on what we see on screen. So back in the days they really did not have the technology we have today so it was not has good viewing comparing to the American movies with all these effects. Also, when Munsterberg states that we should obey the law of the mind rather than those of outer world, I think it means we should have our own imagination not let the people around us change it.

Colleen Egan: A good example of the differences of the style and technology between Kleptomaniac and Sherlock Jr. is how we’re better able to see the events. In Kleptomaniac the camera can’t zoom in and we aren’t able to see the woman take the jewelry. But in Sherlock Jr. the camera is able to zoom in and focuses on the thief when he’s putting the watch in the box and allowing us to see what he’s doing. I agree with your thoughts on Munsterberg’s statement.

The way that technology has evolved caused the transitions you mentioned to be clearer and better, compared to the old days.
