What’s resonated with me so far

21 Mar

Of everything we have learned in class so far, the concept of visual vernacular and image interpretation has resonated with me the most. I find it interesting that an image can be taken from a certain point of view and still leave room for interpretation. For example, in class we looked at an image of President Obama supposedly looking serious or stressed. However, there are many possible reasons why he looked like that and he may not have even been upset at the time. This goes to show that not everything is what it seems, even visual evidence can be skewed a certain way depending on who is capturing the image and who is looking at it. To me, this shows the power of images and how they can mean so many different things.
