Soldiers Without Swords

4 Mar

I think that Soldiers Without Swords was an amazing depiction of how collectively the media holds the power to change the way you think and view certain aspects of life. The documentary really showed how racism affected African Americans during the civil rights movement. I commend the “Black Press” for publishing what others were afraid to say. During such a crucial time in American history, these journalists took a risk and published what was important for the people to know: the truth. I think it’s an important factor for the media to publish the truth. Nowadays, everything published has an underlying opinion, the media is one sided and usually states a certain side before stating the facts. The public deserves to know the truth.
